| Uniform Force celebrates fifth raising day | | | Jammu, 15 July 2007 The fifth Raising Day of Counter Insurgency Force (Uniform) (CIF (U)) began with a ‘Special Order of the Day’ released by Major General PC Panjikar, VSM, General Officer Commanding of the formation, wherein the General recounted the important events of the short but glorious past of the Force and called upon the troops to live up to the traditions of the Force and take it to greater heights in the days to come. He also highlighted the outstanding operational achievements of the force in its area of operations covering the remote areas of Reasi, Udhampur and Rajouri districts. The occasion was marked by Wreath Laying Ceremony at the CIF (U) Wall of Remembrance where floral tributes were paid by the GOC and other officers, to the brave and valiant soldiers of Uniform Force who made supreme sacrifice while fighting the “War against Terrorism”. While interacting with the troops during the day, the GOC complimented them for having successfully eliminated/neutralized over 258 terrorists in a short span of its five years of existence. The General highlighted that, “It was purely due to your hard work, dedication to duty and conduct of relentless Operations in the arduous terrain and adverse climatic conditions that today there is near normalcy in our area of operations and the developmental activities have become the order of the day”.
