NMC demands special financial package for J&K

National Mazdoor Conference has appealed to the Prime Minister to constitute a high power committee headed by J&K Chief Minster Ghulam Nabi Azad for formulating modalities for providing special financial package to the deficit states for implementing the 6th pay penal recommendation simultaneously across the country.
Addressing a NMC workers rally here today, Subash Shastri President NMC said that committee should comprise Union Finance Minister, Dy. Chairman of the planning commission and Chief Ministers of various states. He said J&K and other such states with limited resource base should be given financial package by the central to implement the 6th pay commission for the employees.
The NMC Chief appreciated the pace with which the pay commission is engaged in holding discussion and touring various states to know the views of salaried class before finalizing the recommendation, and hoped that the panel should submit its report by December this year.
Shastri further urged. Manmohan Singh to provide special financial package to Jammu and Kashmir State for meeting the expenses on the implementation of 6th pay commission recommendations as a special case, and demanded grant B-1 status to both Jammu and Srinagar capital cities of theState.
Lauding employee-friendly policies and approach of Chief Minister, Shastri hoped that Jammu and Kashmir would be the first state in the country to implement new pay scales and granting other incentives in one go.
Pleading the cause of working class, Shastri also demanded early release of 5% D.A. due from July 1, regularization of all daily wagers of Rural Development, Sericulture, Floriculture and Power Development Department, besides releasing COLA installments in favour of PSU employees, release of 22 months salary of motivators working in the IWDP project Akhnoor and their regularization, deputing revenue department officials for Patwari training, timely payment of wages of daily wagers and enhancement of the daily wages from Rs. 70 to Rs.100 per month ,release of 51 months wages to workers of Trikuta Hills Project of Social Forestry Department , providing pending salary of Mallis cum Chowkidars of RDD and deputing casual labourers of Floriculture for Gardener’s training.
Prominent among those who also addressed the rally included Rajan Babu Khajuria, Sunil Kochhar, Sham Lal Sharma, Lalit Kumar Sharma, Puran Chand, Satpal, Barkat Ram, Narinder Bhagat, Madan Lal, Kasturi Lal, Ram Lal, Bodh Raj, Bohd. Farooq, Sukh Dev Singh, Sham Singh, Sat Pal Sanmotra and Koushal Kumar.
