| Candidates protest against fixing of merit | | | Jammu | July 16 Admission seekers for BA/B Sc/B Com Part-I of the Women College Gandhi Nagar Jammu staged protest demonstration outside the college premises today. The agitating students were protesting for not getting admissions after the issue of the last cut off list by the college administration. They also blocked vehicular traffic to show their resentment. Raising slogans against the State Government and the Higher Education Department, these students reiterated that they will continue their protest till they get the admissions in their respective subjects. The agitating students said that they have come from the far off places where there are not many facilities for them. So, the college administration should make some arrangements for adjusting the students who have not got admissions because of low merit so that their career will not get spoiled. Further after the assurance of Dr. ND Wani Director Colleges Higher Education and Veena Gupta Principal Women College Gandhi Nagar, the students called off their agitation. ND Wani assured them that the college administration will make arrangements to adjust all the students.
