| PDP holding PAC meet today | | |
Srinagar, July 16 Political Affairs Committee of Peoples Democratic Party will meet here on Tuesday to finalize the name of party candidate for the coveted post of Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council.
Sources within the party circles said that owing to a consensus between the coalition alliance, the party candidate would get full support from Congress in the election, which is to be held on July 20.
It was reliably learnt that the party has decided the name Gulam Nabi Lone (Hanjoora) to be nominated as the party candidate for the post. However, the final decision in this regard would be taken on Tuesday when the political affairs committee of the party will meet under the chairmanship of PDP chief patron Mufti Muhammad Sayeed.
Another coalition alliance Congress is not expected to field its candidate, while the opposition National Conference is yet to decide whether to contest the election or not.
