Gupta condoles killing of Dev Raj
7/18/2007 12:04:29 AM

Jammu July-17-
Expressing his grief and pain over the killing of dedicated BJP activist, Dev Raj and his daughter as also injuries to his wife, the former Union Minister and a senior BJP leader, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta said that this well planned attack indicates that the pernicious designs of the fundamentalists are still at work to force the minorities out of Doda and other areas of Jammu region too after the cleansing of minorities from Kashmir valley.
In a handout Prof. Gupta said here today that Dev Raj was a brave activist who fought the terrorist attack to the last bullet and his bravery saved the life of many others as the extremists had attacked with a plan to perpetrate yet another massacre like that of Kulhand in which about twenty persons were brutally killed and injuries inflicted to many others in their barbaric action. He stressed for immediate relief and sophisticated weapons to the members of the VDCs who are facing the attacks of the highly trained terrorists.
Lashing upon the Congress led coalition, both of the state and that of the centre, he alleged that these governments were supplementing to the designs of anti-national forces which is very much evident from the fact that during the past four years now that not a single SPO was recruited nor any new Village Defence Committee (VDC) was organized not to say of strengthening the VDCs which were organized earlier during the NDA rule at the centre.
Prof. Gupta regretted that despite their parroting that Kashmir is incomplete without Kashmiri Pandits but in practically these leaders of the Congress and their likes have been sabotaging all the schemes which were formulated for return and rehabilitation of Nationalists in the valley. In this regard he pointed out that during the NDA regime rupees twenty eight hundred crores Action Plan was framed and applications from the unemployed Kashmiri migrants were sought. But it was highly intriguing that this Action Plan was left half way and not a single migrant youth was provided any job in the valley of Kashmir although as many as over 15,000 youth had submitted their applications for the purpose.
He pointed out that no step is being taken to guard the properties of these unfortunate migrants which are being encroached upon by the Mafia supported by the fundamentalists and certain leaders of the ruling sect.
