| JU makes new strides under dynamic VC: LJSSM | | |

Describing Prof Amitabh Matoo as a dynamic and efficient Vice Chancellor, the Lok Jan Shakti Students Morcha (LJSSM) has said that under his leadership the University of Jammu has taken strides in all spheres and achieved excellence in several fields.
Addressing media period here today Bageshwar Sharma Provincial President of the Union said that it is a proud privilege for Jammu and especially for the students of University of Jammu to have an excellent, dynamic and cooperative VC under whose stewardship the University has many firsts to its credit. However, he regretted that some people around him and few who run the administration in the University have been acting as stumbling block in the process of development of University
He alleged that the student community which is heart beat and soul of the University was deliberately excluded from the recently held special convocation by some University people.
He said the Warden of the Nehru Hostel is a man from Agra and knew nothing about the cultural susceptibility of the people belonging to different regions of J&K, due to which student community is facing numerous difficulties and alleged that he (Warden) is not able to handle the students properly. He demanded that a local should be appointed as Warden of the Hostel who could take better care of the student needs.
The Department of Law which constitutes more than half of the strength of the Jammu University presents a very pathetic picture. The class rooms, desks, boards are broken, toilets are filthy and horrible to use, he alleged.
