| Tourism promotion in Bhaderwah still far off dream | | Crores go down the drain on faulty measures | |
Bhaderwah, July 17: A close look around to asses as to how much infrastructure has been build for promotion of Tourism in Bhaderwah is enough to dilute the false impression created by the present dispensation about extending the dividends of this vital industry to the people of this picturesque virgin valley represented by state's chief minister; instead what this ever ignored part of the state has received till now is wastage of huge funds on organizing tourism festivals. Since the total failure of recently held tourism festival here, the officials of Tourism and Bhaderwah development authority have gone under ground as they have lost the courage to face the people. During the fifteen day tourism festival that started from 9 July and commenced on July 24, acting in complacent manner, the organizers provided Chopper facility for the visitors willing to fly to enchanting valleys situated amid sky touching mountains.. However, in the absence of tourists who could have utilize such a Luxury, 'the big arrangement' only led to wastage of lakhs of rupees paid to the providers of the service. The money also include the cost of free flights conducted during the festival to ferry leaders of ruling party, Tourism and Bhaderwah Development Authority Officials On the name of infrastructure, for the last three years since the establishment of BDA, only a Cafeteria is being constructed at Picturesque Jai Valley located amid snow caped mountains on the eastern side. Interestingly, while the failure of Tourist festival has become a routine since the trend was started three years ago, instead of curing the wrongs behind repeated flop of the shows over the years, organizers this time made the arrangements even at a bigger scale. Given these sordid state of affairs, all hopes of the people of the area raised after having the chief minister as the representative of the area and establishment of a Development Authority have come falling on the ground like a house of cards. Indisputably, Bhaderwah, popularly known as 'Chota Kashmir' has been subjected to step motherly treatment at the hands of the Kashmir centric leadership. The Kashmir leadership took no measures to bring the place on the tourist map probably for the fear of losing tourist inflow to valley as Bhaderwah and its periphery are potential enough to bewitch and attract the tourists from all across the globe. The hegemony of Kashmir leadership can be assessed by the fact that super duper film "Noorie" was shot in this very area during late seventies but Bollywood producers were never allowed again to shoot in the enchanting valleys of this area.
