| Woman, 2 employees among 4 arrested | | 5 kgs charas, 500 gms intoxicant recovered | |
Srinagar, July 17 : Police today claimed to have arrested four persons including a woman and 2 government employees and recovered 5 kgs of charas and 500 grams intoxicants in two separate raids. The arrested Government employees work with Road and Buildings and Forest departments. Sources quoting Senior Superintendent of Police Pulwama told News Agency of Kashmir that a Police team on a specific information raided a house in Ladrmad Awantipora and seized five kgs of charas from the possession of from Abdul Ahmad Dar, son of Ab. Rahman and Mst. Sara, wife of Gh. Mohammad Sheikh. The duo was arrested on spot and a case FIR no 283/07, under section 8/20 of NDPS act was registered in police station Pulwama in connection, sources added. In another raid police Zainapora during a naka checking at village Melhura Wachi intercepted a Maruti car and recovered 500 gms of narcotic substance from the passion of two persons on board. They were identified as Bashir Ahmed Dar, son of Mohammad Ismail, resident of Watrigam Dialgam Anantnag and Bilal Ahmed Ganie, son of Habibullah, resident of Sogam Kupwara. Sources said that while Bashir is employee of the Forest department, Bilal Ahmed works in R&B department. During the questioning accused revealed that the consignment was to be supplied to college youth. Police has registered a case FIR no. 88/2007, under section 8/20 of NDPS act in this regard and has taken up investigations. |
