| PNB disburses Rs. 7 cr loan through ‘Ustav Basant’ | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu July 18, 2007 Playing proactive role in the economic development of the state, Punjab National Bank under its ‘Utsav Basant ’scheme disbursed loans aggregating to Rs. seven crores covering all segments of the society at a function organized at Amar Singh Club here today. Divisional Commissioner Jammu Sudanshu Pandey, who was the chief guest at the function, distributed the loans among the beneficiaries. R K Koul General Manager BSNL was the guest of honour. Vivek Arya, Area Zonal Manager, PNB informed the gathering that Ustav Basant is the fifteenth programme for retail lending, enterprise and agricultural development. He said under the ‘Utsav Basant’ program the Bank envisages to disburse Rs.400 crore during the current fiscal so as to almost double its existing credit portfolio till March next as also to increase its Credit Depoist ratio. Zonal Manager further said that PBN proposes to make quantum jump in credit portfolio during the current fiscal by financing some viable mini hydel projects with generation capacity of two MWs to improve the power position in the state He said that micro credit and lending under government sponsored schemes shall continue to remain priority for the bank. Appreciating the management for conducting such functions, he asked the bank authorities to hold such more such functions in rural areas as well and also asked the other banks to emulate PNB in this field. General Manager BSNL R K Koul who also spoke on the occasion appreciated the facilities and smooth modern day services being provided by the bank in Jammu.
