| DAWA threatens to boycott government functions. | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | July 18 Drama Artists and Writers Federation (DAWA) has threatened all government functions in protest against the Tourism Department failure to make payments to the artists who were booked to participate in ‘Jammu Mela’ held in April last. In an emergent meeting of the Association, the participants alleged that despite lapse of over 100 days now the artists who performed during the ‘Jammu Mela’ held in April last have not been paid their remuneration so far making mockery of the promises made to them at the time of holding the festival. The association has taken strong exception to the dillydallying tactics of the tourism department and warned to boycott all such functions in future. The association has urged the Chief Minister and the concerned minister to personally intervene and get the payment released in favour of the artists who performed in the Mela.
