| I-day arrangements reviewed at Reasi | | |
REASI, JULY 18 -
Arrangements for the celebration of Independence day were discussed at a district level officers meeting held here at Reasi today.
District Development Commissioner Reasi Mr Sanjeev Verma presided.
During the meeting it was decided that the celebrations of Independence day would start with the playing of Shehnai Vadan from Kalka Mandir Reasi by the Information Department in the wee hours from 5 am to 6 am.
DDC asked the officers of various departments which include PWD, RDD, PHE, PDD, Education, Police, Information, Health, Fire Services, R.T.O and executive officers of Municipal Committee Reasi to make all necessary arrangements well before the schedule date and time.
As usual, the flag hosting ceremony would be held at 8.55 am in the Sports Stadium Reasi by the VIP followed by March passed by the contingents of police, army, BSF and contingents of educational institutions of Reasi and its adjoining areas. Scintillating cultural programmes based on national integration, patriotism, mutual brotherhood and communal harmony and eradication of social evils would also be organized on the occasion.
The meritorious students would be honored on this occasion and all government buildings would be illuminated in the evening.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Reasi Mr B.A Saraf, Assistant Commissioner (R) Mr Bikram Singh Jamwal, CPO Mr Z.A Banday, Tehsildar Mr Ashok Kumar Sharma, SDPO Mr Vijay Kumar Chowdhary, Tehsildar Settlement Mr R.C Tripathi and all district level officers of Reasi district also participated in the meeting.
