Upgradation of healthcare facilities top priority of Govt: Mangat
Several deputations calls on Health Minister

Srinagar, July 18 –
Minister for Health and Medical Education Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma said that upgradation of healthcare facilities especially in far off areas is on top priority of the government. He said various innovative steps had been taken up in this behalf adding that under National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) all the district hospitals and Primary Health Centres (PHCs) are being upgraded and equipped with modern gadgets.
The Minister was interacting with various deputations who called on him here today and apprised him about their demands.
The deputationists who met the Minister were from Kupwara, Karnah, Zachaldara, Sopore, Kulgam, Beerwa, Banihal, Ramsoo, Paddar, Kishtwar and Batote.
The deputation from Kupwara and Karnah deputations led by Qazi Mehboob Illahi demanded includes upgradation of PHCs Teetwal, Chitarkote, Kotrali, Herpora, Kalamabad and Zachaldara. They also urged for shifting of these PHCs to newly constructed buildings and demanded regularizations of ad hoc employees of health department of the area.
Another deputation from Beerwa led by MLA Mr. Sarfaraz Khan pleaded for upgradation of healthcare facilities in the constituency.
The deputation from Ramsoo led by Mr. Farooq Ahmad Katoch presented a charter of demands which includes setting up of Trauma Centre at Magarkote on National Highway, PHC at Thaniyal, upgradation of PHC Okhal and Allopathic Dispensary Neel and posting of staff in newly opened PHC Khari.
The deputation from Batote demanded posting of surgeon specialist, radiologist, anesthesia and para-medical staff in Sher-i-Kashmir Accidental Hospital Batote besides they also urged opening of blood bank in the hospital.
Deputation from Paddar and Kashtiwar apprised the Minister about their demands which include opening of ISM dispensaries at various locations at Paddar and Nagsini block, early execution of Kheru, Kewar projects and absorption of unemployed educated youth in these projects. They also urged filling of vacant posts of doctors and para medical staff in district hospital Kishtwar.
MLA Th Puran Singh and Senior Congress leader Mr. Ghulam Rasool Kar also called on Health Minister and apprised him about the problems and demands confronting the people of their areas in healthcare facilities.
All the deputationists hailed the steps being taken by the government for upgrading healthcare facilities all over the state under various programmes and assured their wholehearted support for making Jammu and Kashmir a healthy state of the country.
The Minister gave a patient hearing to all the deputations and assured that their demands would be looked into sympathetically
