Tours various areas of Budgam constituency

Srinagar, July 18
To take on spot assessment of the people’s problems and to accelerate the development process in Budgam constituency, the Minister for Transport Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen who is also the chairman of the District Development Board Budgam today conducted an extensive tour of Budgam. The Minister during his visit interacted with numerous delegations and common masses at places which included Grain, Wahabpora, Wadwan, Soibug, Haran, and Paimur.
Accompanied by the District Development Commissioner Budgam Kh. Farooq Renzu all the sectoral officers of the line departments were present during the tour.
At Wahabpora Budgam a good number of locals particularly the youth apprised the Minister of various civic and basic problems of transportation facilities in the area, non-availability of medical facilities dilapidated roads and demanded construction of bridge at Budgam Wahabpora road which will connect the two main constituencies of Beerwah and Budgam.
The Minister assured the people that their problems would be taken on priority and within one month the grievances would be redressed. He also directed the concerned agencies to prepare the project feasibility report for the proposed Budgam – Wahabpora bridge within a weeks time.
At Wadwan, the Minister during his interaction with the people directed the concerned agencies to expedite the work on the public park at Wadwan. The Minister assured the people that the problem of water, power and transportation scarcity will be dealt on priority. During the tour at Soibug, the Minister visited the site for the proposed health centre and asked the concerned agencies to expedite the necessary land acquisition process so that the work on the proposed health centre is expedited.

The Minister during his tour of the local Imambara at Paimur asked the concerned agencies to expedite the work on the public park near the Imambara.
Later addressing a well attended gathering of people at Paimur, Budgam, the Minister said that as chairman of the District Development Board it is his duty to see that the decisions taken in the District Development Board are implemented as such on ground. He said that the coalition government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad is committed to work for the betterment of the people and their development. He said that the development of the far-flung and neglected areas is the priority of the coalition government.
Reiterating peace as pre-requisite for development, Hakeem Yaseen asked the people to strengthen the hands of the Chief Minister so that the peace process reaches its logical conclusion and the fruits of prosperity and development reach every nook and corner of the state.
Responding to the demands putforth by the people on the occasion, the Minister assured them that their grievances of roads, lack of electricity, providing of a veterinary unit will be redressed within two months. He said to deal with the problems of drinking water in the area a water supply scheme involving an expenditure of Rs 3 crore is on the anvil.
