Srinagar July 18
Minister for Agriculture, Mr. Abdul Aziz Zargar today presided over a meeting of Cabinet Sub Committee convened to discuss various issues relating to welfare of ex-servicemen of the state.
Among others, Minister for Power, Mr. Nawang Rigzin Jora, Minister for R&B, Mr. Gulchain Singh Charak, Financial Commissioner, Home, Mr. B.R.Kundal, Principal Secretary Finance, Secretary Revenue, Vice Chairman, JDA, Chairman J&K Cooperative Union, Director Sainik Welfare Board were present in the meeting.
“It is an important issue and needs consultation of other departments also” Mr. Zargar said and added that a final decision in the matter would be taken only after taking in view all aspects.
Mr. Jora suggested that Sainik Welfare Boards should be established at district levels and ex-servicemen should frame cooperative societies, which could generate employment avenues for unemployed youth of the state.
