| Tara Chand lauds media role | | Reviews arrangements of legislature session | |
Srinagar, July 18
Speaker Legislative Assembly Mr. Tara Chand while lauding role of media in nurturing democratic institutions has placed on record his special appreciation for the media persons working in Jammu and Kashmir. Media has always given me full cooperation in smooth conduct of business during last 4-year. They exhibited highest professional caliber while covering assembly proceeding and keeping public aware of the legislative business, he said.
Tara Chand was chairing a high level meeting of officers and media persons here this afternoon. MLA Mr. Shyam Lal, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Mr. Mehboob Iqbal, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Mr. Aijaz Iqbal, Secretary Legislative Assembly Mr. M. Ramzan, Director Information Mr. Zaffar Ahmad, SSP Security Srinagar Mr. S. Mujtaba, senior journalist Mr. Nazir Masoodi, News Editor Doordarshan Srinagar Mr. Mohammad Yousuf Ganai, Joint Director of Information Kashmir Mr. Khursheed Ahmad Jalani, SP Traffic Srinagar Mr. Abdul Hamid, SP Security, and were present in the meeting.
The meeting reviewed the arrangements that have been put in place to help smooth conduct of business of legislature session commencing from July 19 at Srinagar.
Matters pertaining to the media coverage, parking of vehicle, issuance of passes to press and related issues were also discussed in the meeting.
Tara Chand along with the team of officers presented in the meeting inspected the locations earmarked for parking of media vehicles. He directed the concerned agencies to facilitate media in every respect so that they would be able to render their professional duties smoothly.
