| Musharraf turns 63 | | |

Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf is celebrating his 63rd birthday on Friday.
Born in 1943 in Old Delhi's Daryaganj area, Musharraf has been serving the Pakistani Army since his recruitment in 1961, and participated in the country's two major wars in 1965 and 1971.
Musharraf's ancestral house 'Neharwali Haveli' is located at Kucha Saadullah Khan, behind Golcha cinema in Daryaganj.
The Pakistani President spent the first four years of his childhood in this house, before his family moved to Pakistan during the Partition in 1947.
A few years ago, during his first visit to India as Pakistani President, Musharraf visited his ancestral house and spent some time there chatting with his old friends and neighbours.
Though now in a dilapidated condition, the Neharwali Haveli was bought by Musharraf's grandfather Qazi Mohtashimuddin after he retired as the commissioner of Punjab. Musharraf's father Syed Musharraf Uddin later moved to Pakistan with his whole family deserting the Haveli during the partition of India.
At present, the haveli is occupied by more than 5 families and is situated between crowded clusters of narrow alleys and it is difficult for anyone to imagine its original grandeur.
