| Seven arrested with 35 bovines | | | Jammu | July 19 Jammu and Kashmir police today arrested seven persons and recovered 35 bovines from their possession in two different places while they were smuggling the bovines to Srinagar and Punjab. According to reports today morning Batote police received specific information of smuggling the bovines in the area, and accordingly a police team led by SHO Sat Pal Modi swung into action and laid a naka in the area and during checking the vehicles police stopped a truck N0 JK02D/6577 and recovered 13 bovines in the truck hidden in the self made cabin and arrested two persons namely Driver Gulzar Ahmed son of Habibullah resident of Kulgam and Mohammed Iqbal son of Abdul Gani resident of Qazigund from the spot and took them to police station for further interrogation. Sources said during interrogation they told police that they loaded the bovines from Kaluchak and were on way to Qazigund when the Police arrested them. Police has registered a case in this regard and is investigating the matter. Meanwhile in another incident Chadwal police has also arrested five persons and recovered 22 bovines from their possession when they were smuggling the bovines from Jammu to Punjab. According to reports after getting information of smuggling the bovines in the area, a police team from Chadwal police post led by Incharge Sarabjeet Singh under the direction of DSP Border Sajjad Nabi laid a naka in the area and during checking police stopped two trucks Numbering PB06/2874 and PB06/1499 which were on way to Punjab. During checking of the vehicles the police recovered 22 bovines illegally loaded in the vehicles and arrested Rash Pal Singh, Ashwani Kumar, Jagtar Singh and Raj Kumar all residents of Deena Nagar, Punjab and a agent namely Barha son of Ali Hussain resident of Vijaypur from the spot and took them to police post for further interrogation and also registered a case in this regard.
