Jammu July 19- ‘With you for you always’, the police helpline launched for quick response of the peoples’ complaints has helped in solving many of the problems and since the launch of this help line early last year the police has received over a thousand complaints in the shape of SMS.
In one such SMS police registered a FIR against the in laws of a woman who is fighting the life and death battle in the hospital due to 90 per cent burn injuries .Her sister flashed a SMS on Police Helpline saying that her sister, struggling for her life wanted to share some secrets with you about the episode in which she received over 90 per cent burn injuries and her in laws were not allowing us to see her. Upon which the Police not only traced the caller but also helped to see her sister in the hospital.
After recording the statement of the woman, the police registered a case against her in laws and took up the investigation.
The helpline ‘With You for You Always’ has proved beneficial, as one can easily flash any message seeking police help while sitting at home at a work place.. If any one wants any help from police, he has to only SMS his complaint on the helpline number and his complaint is well received by a senior police officer. Directions are passed there and then to the concerned police station to act on that complaint immediately.
People interested to know the status regarding Passport, Service and NOC can get the detailed information by just sending SMS or calling on the help line number.
It a good step taken by the police department, says a lady who had also availed this facility once. This facility is very much beneficial for ladies like me who feel insulted to go to police station, she adds.
According to SSP Jammu Mukesh Singh, people are giving positive response to this service and till now around one thousand SMS had been received by us and necessary action taken on these. He said that people who want to know the status of their verification regarding passport service, service verification and any type of NOC from police department, can take the benefit of this service. He can get response within two to four days from this helpline service. ‘We are trying to provide every possible help to the people of Jammu and to give them a feeling that we are with you’, he added..
