Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 10: Crime Branch (CB), Jammu, today registered an FIR under sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471 and120-B of RPC in an alleged fake PRC scam. According to the case, a written complaint lodged by Jaswant Singh, son of Kirpal Singh of ward No 52, Ambedkar Nagar, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu duly endorsed by CJM, Jammu, was received by CB, alleging therein that Salwinder Singh alias Surinder Singh, son of Ganga Singh of Kathua, at present Sector No 6, Nanak Nagar, Jammu, was a professional land grabber and actually belonged to Punjab but he, in connivance with revenue officials, had procured fake PRCs in favour of his sons and some of his relatives, showing them a resident of Kathua. On the receipt of this complaint, a preliminary verification was conducted during which it was found that Salwinder, with malafide intentions and in connivance with some other persons/revenue officials, had allegedly procured fake PRCs under file No 607/Kathua on August 7, 1981 for himself and his family members by resorting to fraudulent means but the records of the said file could not be traced. It was revealed that one PRC under file No 607/PRC dated 23.08.1981 has been issued in the name of Swarn Singh, son of Kishno and not the accused and that the signatures of the issuing authority and the file number on the photocopies of the PRCs seized were all fake and fabricated. The omissions and commissions, therefore, on the part of Salwinder and some other persons/revenue officials prima facie constitute offences punishable under sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471 and 120-B of RPC. Accordingly, a formal case was registered by CB. (JNF) |
