DDC holds public grievances camp at Nagrota Gujroo

KATHUA, JULY 20 - In continuation to the drive to take the administration to the door steps of the people and to mitigate their problems on the spot, District Development Commissioner, Kathua, Mrs. Sarita Chauhan convened a meeting of district administration and public at Nagrota Gujroo in Tehsil Billawar of Kathua district today.
SE, Hydraulic Kathua Mr. O.P. Dubey, Assistant Commissioner (Dev) Kathua, Dr. Bharat Bhushan Executive Engineers PHE, Irrigation, Flood Control, PDD, District Social Welfare Officer, Chief Education Officer, Kathua, other district officers, Tehsil level and block level officers, Panchs and Sarpanchs besides a large number of people of the area were also present on the occasion.
The people from all walks of life without political considerations apprised the administration about their problems.
The public of the area jointly voiced for timely supply of seed and fertilizers. The people strongly advocated for the supply of superior quality of fertilizers instead of spurious quality.
Various other problems were also projected by the people of the area before the administration which include completion of under-construction development works, removing of encroachments made by some persons, installation of electric polls, and installation of transformers, stoppage of Un-scheduled power cuts and supply of safe drinking water.
The deserving familes also stressed for inclusion of their names in BPL list and providing of BPL ration. The gujjar and bakerwal also demanded for inclusion of their names in BPL lists, absence of patwaries, other government employees and mis- appropriation of ICDS nutrition etc.
The people of Billawar demanded repair and up gradation of bus stand Billawar. The public of Dharamkote strongly opposed the un-authorized functioning of brick killan at Dharamkote, The people of Gujroo Nagrota demanded bus stand and up gradation of Medical sub centre. The Public of Kohag demanded school building and demanded that BDO, Billawar should keep his Headquarter at Kohag for10 days in the month. The Gujjar and Bakerwal community demanded Primary school and Anganwari centres in Gujjar and Bakerwal Basities. The people of Badnota demanded maintenance of Panchayat Ghar. The people of Makwal demanded veterinary Hospital, Panchayat Ghar and upgradation of school. The people also demanded credit cards (KCCs) to the farmers and road connectivity.
They also demanded that plants from Ujh project may be provided to them in the months of July and August for better results.
Responding to the demands of the people, the DDC issued on spot instructions to the concerned officers to take immediate steps to sort out their important issues and to mitigate the sufferings of the people on priority basis so that the people could feel a sigh of relief. Ms. Chauhan exhorted upon the officers to put in their sincere efforts while executing the development works.
She directed the Chief Agriculture Officer, Kathua to ensure timely supply of seed and fertilizers to the farmers.
Regarding other demands, the DDC assured the public that they would be solved in phased manner.
