| PNB disburses Rs.2 cr under ‘Utsav Prakash’ scheme at Agore | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | July 20 Under Utsav Prakash the Punjab National Bank disbursed Rs two crore at a function organized at village Agore Bhalwal near here today. Assistant General Manage Reserve Bank of India, J.B. Mangla was the chief guest on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Mangla appreciated the role played by the PNB in the economic development of the state. He stressed participating branches of the bank to ensure that such awareness camps are frequently conducted for the benefit of the people In his welcome address, Chief Manger PNB, Ramzan Mohammad said that the Bank has an ambitious program to expand the existing network by adding 16 more branches during the current fiscal as also to improve the CD ratio of the bank. He said, that the Banks is deeply rural oriented and is the only bank in the state, aggressively involved in Micro credit disbursements, Self Help Group formations, village adoptions and farmers club launchings. He said, bank has issued 723 Artisan Credit Cards in Jammu province and 176 General Credit Cards, a concept propounded by RBI. He also revealed that as per SLBC data, the bank ranked number one in the entire State in terms of percentage of disbursements to targets under various government schemes during the last fiscal. Others who spoke included District Coordinator of the Bank, BDO Bhalwal, Managers of Shamachak, Akhnoor and Agore branches of the bank.
