| TA jawans arrested in kidnapping, rape case | | | Jammu | July 20 A Territorial Army (TA) jawan along with two women were arrested by Surankot police in a rape case today. According to reports some days back the family members of the a girl Sahina (name changed) registered a missing report of their daughter in police station Surankote. After registering the case the police took up investigations into the kidnapping case. Sources said that police today received specific information that the girl was hiding in Dara Sangla area. After receiving the information, a police team swung into action and raided a house where police recovered the girl and arrested one TA jawan namely Mohammed Munir along with two women namely Sahina Akhtar and Hanifa Begum and took them to police station for further interrogation. Sources said that during questioning the girl told police that the TA jawan had kidnapped her two days back and took her to the house of arrested woman where he raped her many times. Police sent the girl to hospital for medical checkup where doctors confirmed rape. Police has registered a case under section 376,146,109 RPC under FIR No 103/2007 and is investigating the matter. Meanwhile, in another incident a young girl was kidnapped from her house at Rajpura area in Mandi. According to reports the family members of one girl namely Rashida Begum today lodged a complaint in police station wherein it has been alleged that one Mushtaq Ahmed son of Sultan Ahmed resident of Rajpura, Mandi kidnapped the girl from her house. Police have registered a case in this regard and took up the investigation and in the meantime launched a hut to apprehend the alleged accused.
