| HC directs government to file compliance report in contempt petition | | | JAMMU, JULY 20- Justice YP Nargotra of Jammu and Kashmir High Court, Jammu wing, in a contempt petition filed by Bharat Bhushan Raina Vs AK Angurana and others, observed that statement of fact has been filed in which it has been stated that the matter requires consideration by the Cabinet, which is yet to be accorded and adjourned the case for four weeks. Justice Nargotra, after hearing Sr. Adv DC Raina appearing for the petitioners and Additional Advocate General appearing for the state, observed that this being the position, the petition is adjourned for four weeks. On the next date of hearing the AAG shall file the compliance report, failing which Chief Secretary Jammu Kashmir Government shall appear in person. In the contempt petition it has been submitted that the respondents filed a petition in the State High Court seeking higher pay-scale as they are serving in ITI Technical wings belonging to the category of Junior Instructors. High Court granted two months time to the official respondents in the month of March 2005 for implementing the directions despite lapse of considerable time the respondents did not take any action which ultimately forced the petitioner to initiate contempt proceedings against the respondents.
