After congress CPM turns him back
7/21/2007 11:00:12 PM

Jammu, July 21
Like inconsistency in a game shows players the exit door, Farooq Abdullah's U turn by opting to vote for UPA presidential candidate could fetch him nothing; reports say that after a volte-face from Congress the former Chief Minister could get nothing even from CPM leadership to whom he had approached to plead his case.
The NC chief patron who had been eyeing on the post of Vice president for some time now seems to have missed the train again as UPA alliance has already agreed upon floating Hamid Ansari for the coveted post.
Sources told News Agency of Kashmir that while Dr. Farooq was never on the list of Congress, even his last moment move of supporting UPA candidate did not help him to make a dent in presence of a congress group who were against him for the first day.
Sources said that a group within congress opposed Farooq with the plea that if it had to choose a candidate from Jammu and Kashmir it has ample option even within the Congress and inside the Congress led alliance in the state, indicating towards, Mufti Sayeed and Saif-u-Din Soz.
Sources said during his visit to Delhi on the very next day of elections for President Farooq after getting a vault face from congress approached CPM leaders Sita Ram Yechury and Prakash Karat to put his case across. However, he could not get any thing even from them. "Instead the two leaders fall heavily on him for his inconsistency in allegiance ", sources said.
They said that the CPM leaders in plan talk refused to recommend his name for the post and said how he could claim a recommendation from UPA as till yesterday he was part of NDA.
