| Govt jobs sought on J&K only: Azad | | | ET REPORTER Jammu, July 21: Counselling the youth to look for private jobs, Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today said that Chief Minister and Kashmir is the only state in the country where people run after government jobs. He said that he has the experience of working across the length and breadth of the country and has never seen youth seeking the government jobs. He asked youth to design their destinies themselves by making careful career options. Observing that unemployment was a "peculiar" problem in Jammu and Kashmir , he asked unemployed youth to look for avenues other than government jobs. "The problem of unemployment in the state is peculiar in nature as educated youth are not drawn to self employment here but wait for government jobs, which are limited," Azad said addressing a meeting convened to review the working of Kashmir Government Polytechnic and Government Polytechnic for Women here. He said he had addressed public meetings across the country in his political career, but "did not find a single instance where a group of youth with placards raised slogans to demand jobs." "This sight is very common in Jammu and Kashmir ," he said and held "some politicians and rulers responsible for spoiling the lives of the youth by selling them dreams of government jobs when these are not available."
