| Crime Branch busts fake duplicate pesticide racket in Kashmir Valley | | | Early times reporter Jammu | July 21 Crime Branch Kashmir has busted a fake duplicate racket running for the last many years According to reports, Crime Branch was receiving complaints with regard to sale of duplicate pesticides in the market in Kashmir valley. During the course of verifications, FIL Industry came up with a written complaint that the duplicate pesticides of Majestic brand under batch No.129, is being sold in the valley. A special team headed by Ghulam Nabi Shah, Dy SP, Crime Branch, Kashmir assisted by other Investigating officers and also a team from Agriculture Enforcement wing was constituted and conducted a number of raids in Pulwama and Baramulla districts. During the course of raids, the duplicate pesticide was seized from various sale points in large quantity. However, some of the pesticide dealers, on receiving the information about the raids being conducted by the Crime Branch, set the duplicate pesticide on fire in huge quantity and burnt these to ashes. The Crime Branch has seized the samples of burnt ashes also. So far the Crime Branch have raided a number of pesticide shops,stores, godowns and seized a huge quantity of duplicate pesticide of Majestic brand under batch No. 129 and sealed five such stores for further investigation. A number of suspects have been picked up for being questioning to build further connections in this racket. It is learnt that some of the items like packet and raw material were being imported from outside the State with the connivance of some persons from outside the State also. The investigation of the case is being carried out vigorously and further disclosures are expected.
