A traffic cop was crushed to death by a truck driver when he tried to stop the truck at Thandi Khui area in Vijaypur today.
According to reports, today morning a traffic police team who laid a naka in Mansar area and stopped a truck N0 PK08K/9745, which was on its way from Punjab to Jammu but the truck driver broke the naka and fled from the spot. The Traffic team chased him and at Thandi Khui and when the cops tried to stop the truck, the truck driver knocked down one of the cops identified as Bal Krishan son of Asha Ram resident of Chan Moria, Hiranagar, in which he died on spot. The other cops who were also on the spot arrested the truck driver Mohan Lal son of Sewa Ram resident of Akhnoor along with truck and took the traffic cop to hospital where doctors declared him as brought dead. Police has registered a case in this regard and is investigating the matter.
