| Prank leads teenager to trouble | | Arrested after phoning police saying Parliament would be blown | |
NEW DELHI, JULY 21 A teenager has landed in trouble here after he allegedly made a call to police claiming that global terror outfit al-Qaeda would blow up Parliament House on Independence Day. Mintu Kumar Mehto (19), who made the call to police at around 10 p.m. On Thursday, was arrested by Special Cell sleuths after they tracked down the mobile phone he used, a senior police officer said. The teenager, a resident of Panchsheel Park in Vikas Nagar locality of west Delhi, wanted to play a prank to create disturbance, but his attempt backfired as police acted swiftly to trace the caller. Interestingly, Mehto had used his brother's mobile phone and somebody else's SIM card to make the call, hoping that he would not be caught, senior police officials said. The incident comes at a time when the national capital's police force is gearing up to provide fool-proof security for Independence Day.
