jammu, Oct 18: The Commercial Taxes Department has registered 38 percent growth in a month, said an official here today. As per official handout, the revenue collected by Commercial Taxes Department has witnessed a robust growth of more than 38% during the month of September, 2015 as compared to the collections made during the corresponding period of last financial year. "The cumulative revenue collections have also shown an increase of more than 6.5% over the corresponding period of previous financial year, he added. Spokesperson said, "Instructions on the part of Secretary Commercial Taxes Department namely Baseer Ahmed Khan(IAS) have been issued to all the officers of the department to make concerted efforts to plug all the loopholes and thwart any attempts of tax evasion." "Monitoring and surveillance of taxable transactions in the State under various enactments administered by the department have been increased with clear instructions to deal with the tax evaders strictly in accordance with the law without any slackness but simultaneously ensuring that no honest taxpayer is harassed unnecessarily, he said, while hoping, "the revenue targets assigned by the Government will not only be achieved but surpassed." |
