| LeT militant killed in encounter | | |

Security Forces today killed a hardcore militant of LeT outfit hiding in village Khari in Banihal area along with some other militants.
According to reports 23 RR received specific information that some militants were hiding in the area and after booking information, a party swung into action and cordoned off the area. During search, the militants who were hiding in a house opened fire on the searching party which was effectively replied by the forces. In a long encounter the security forces succeeded in gunning down the hardcore militants while the other militants fled from the spot.
The slain militant has been identified as Mohammed Shafi alias Hadir Ali son of Hussain Gujjar resident of Khari, Banihal. One AK47 rifle, three magazines and one grenade was recovered from his possession of the slain militant. The reports reaching here said that search operation was on to apprehend other ultras in the area, when last reports came in.
