| Hizb militant among two killed | | |
JAMMU, JULY 22 (PTI)
A Hizbul Mujahideen militant was among two persons killed in Ramban district, official sources said today.
On a tip off, troops launched a cordon and search operation in Sagan area of Banihal tehsil of Ramban district last night.
During the operation, an encounter took place in the area in which one Hizbul Mujahideen militant was killed, they said adding one AK rifle, 3 magazines, 70 rounds and one grenade was recovered from the slain militant.
The slain militant was identified as Mohmmad Shafi.
In another militancy related incident, ultras barged into the house of one Naseer Din of Kha-Jamola village in Rajouri district last night and dragged him out of the house.
He was later shot dead, the sources said adding his brother was also shot dead by militants last year.
