| KU student among 2 drown, boy buried under land slides | | |
Srinagar July 22: A Kashmir University student who was on a trip to Pahlgam drowned in Nallah lither early this morning and youth in border town lost his life after falling in a well , while a minor was buried alive under landslides at Oteeda Nagsari Kalaroos in the same district.
Official sources said that a female student of Kashmir University suddenly slipped into Nallah Lidder when she was sitting on the banks of the river.
"The girl was could not maintain the balance and was drivcen by the current fo the water to a long distance.
The deceased student was identified as Afshana 23, daughter of Abdul Majeed Wani, resident of Khujpora Nowshera Srinagar.
Teams of Police and Civil defence personnel retrieved the and was rushed to hospital where doctors declared her as brought dead.
The dead body was handed over to Prof. G M Malik, Head of Education Department University of Kashmir.
One Abdul Majeed Magray 26, son of Ghulam Rasool, resident of Kandi, falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Kupwara fell into a deep well and died. . His body was fished out by Fire Tenderers with assistance of local Police and sent to Sub District Hospital Kupwara for necessary medical formalities. Police has taken cognizance and initiated inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPC.
