| Coalition govt. represents aspirations of people: Qazi | | | Srinagar, July 22 Minister for Forests, Environment, Housing and Urban Development Qazi Mohammad Afzal said that coalition government has taken several steps for the welfare and development of the people of the state during last five years tenure. He said that government is committed to upgrade the basic amenities and thrust is being laid to further improve road connectivity, power and drinking water particularly in hither to uncovered and unattended areas. The Minister was addressing during public meetings at Larkipora and Brahgam in Dooru tehsil today. He said that people’s cooperation is must for making the development programmes result-oriented. He said that the people are the real source of power adding that unity and understanding among the masses is imperative for making development programmes result oriented. Qazi Afzal said that restoration of peace and normalcy is gaining momentum and accorded its credit to the people of the state by virtue of whose cooperation the efforts of the government for the purpose could be successful. He said that the united approach of the people for extending the support to the government for launching of developmental programmes in the state have proved appreciable. He said that the efforts of the government for dialogue process and acknowledging the aspirations of the people are getting pull forward and hoped that the dialogue process result in amicable solution of the vexed problem. Qazi Afzal assured the locals that adequate stock of timber would be made available in State Forest Corporation and Forest Depots. He appealed the people be vigilant against the timber smugglers and protecting the green wealth of the state. He on-the-spot announced that a timber depot would be established in Brahgam soon. Mr. Farooq Ahmed Indrabi and other senior PDP leaders also addressed the meetings and enumerating the policies and programmes of the government
