Durbar Move: Landlords must register tenants' details with police: IG Jammu

Jammu, Oct 29: In view of annual Durbar Move, Inspector General of Police Jammu Zone Danesh Rana today asked the police officers to tell the landlords in the winter capital to register details of the tenants with their concerned police stations. ''A strict vigilance is to be maintained on floating population during the Durbar move,'' Rana said, while chairing a high level meeting ahead of Durbar Move here this evening. The IGP, however, asked the concerned police officers to aware landlords by the Station House Officers and Police Post in-charge to register the name of tenant in their respective Police station and Police posts. SSP, Jammu Uttam Chand was also directed to ensure that checking of hotels and other places of lodgements be stepped up immediately particularly during peak hours and hoteliers be briefed properly so that proper record is maintained and no anti national elements under the guise of common man manages his stay in these hotels. ''Mobilise all resources for generation of actionable information so that any minor issues related to the law and order is addressed at appropriate level and avoid further flare up,'' he directed the cops. Rana also reviewed the Law and order and present prevailing security scenario in view of Durbar move to winter Capital. At the outset of meeting, the IGP reviewed the deployment of plan of District Jammu for Civil Secretariat, CM Route as well as other durbar move offices, colonies, quarters located in Jammu City. Mr Rana also issued directions to ensure enhanced security measures in District Jammu and Border area in view of the present security scenario and continues ceasefire violations from across the IB. He asked them to ensure adequate police security arrangement for Civil Secretariat, adequate law and order arrangements at various Chowk, junctions and other important areas in Jammu around civil secretariat. ''The checking and frisking system at Nakas in city and its outskirts needs to be geared up and made purposeful while the nafri manning these Nakas need to be properly briefed and regularly supervised,'' he asserted. Besides, SSP Traffic Jammu has also been directed to brief the traffic staff being deployed at such points properly about their duties and how to deal during the movement of VIPs.
