| One arrested with 30 kg bhuki | | |

Batote police today arrested one person with 30 kg of bhuki when he was allegedly smuggling it from Srinagar to Ludhiana. On a tip off, a police party from Batote led by SHO Sat Pal Modi swung into action and laid a naka in the area. During checking police stopped a vehicle which was on way from Srinagar to Jammu and during checking of the passengers, police arrested one person namely Vinder Singh son of Jinder Singh resident of Ludhiana and recovered 30 kg of bhuki from his possession and took him to police station for further interrogation. Sources said he was active for last many years. Police has registered a case in this regard.
