Put in hard work to come up to expectations of people: DGP to staff

JAMMU, JULY 23
Director General of Police Kuldeep Khuda has said that people of Jammu and Kashmir have high expectations from the police and the force has to come up to their expectations by dint of hard work and devotion to duty. He said the real policing means addressing the problems of the people and ensuring the safety of their life and property.
Addressing first ever Police Darbar after taking over as Director General of Police, here this evening, Khuda said that these objectives can be better achieved by strict discipline, devotion to duty and people friendly behaviour. He said that state police has performed in an exemplary manner in tackling militancy and protecting life and property of the people of the state, adding that the force has made supreme sacrifices particularly during the past 18 years of militancy." Jammu and Kashmir Police has come up as a distinguished police force in the country because of hard work, dedication to duty and supreme sacrifices", he added.
Saying that being head of the Police Parivaar, Khuda asserted,"my earnest endeavour would be to ensure welfare and well being of all the members of force, their families and dependents". He said that grievance redressal mechanism would be strengthened at all levels to quickly respond and address all the genuine problems of the members of the force, he said.
The Director General of Police stated that the police public schools at Srinagar and Jammu would be made institutions of excellence, while police public schools would also be set up in all the districts across the state in a phased manner to felicitate the best possible education to the wards of police personal. He said that equal stress would be laid on the curricular and extra-curricular activities in these institutions for holistic personality development of children and grooming them up as proud citizens of the country to effectively shoulder future responsibilities of nation building. He said the curriculum would be made in tune with the present and futuristic job market requirements.
Khuda said that diagnostic and treatment facilities would be modernized in police hospitals in the state by providing state of the art implants.
Referring to the police martyrs, the Director General of Police said that the sacrifices made by these valiant police personal would be remembered for all times to come and assured their families all support for their rehabilitation and welfare.
"My effort would be to ensure availability of more and more resources for modernizing, expanding and upgrading all logistics for the organization, be it accommodation, computerization and other management facilities", he maintained.
During the Darbar, the police personal apprised the Director General of Police about their various problems. Khuda assured them that their all problems would be examined for appropriate action. He said that by next such Darbar, all their genuine problems would be addressed. On his arrival at District Police Lines Khuda was given the guard of honour by the contingents of Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Earlier, the Director General of Police also visited Police Headquarters here where he was received by the senior police officers. He interacted with them.
Prominent among those were Inspector General of Police Jammu Zone Dr S.P Vaid, DIG Doda-Udhampur Mr Mohanty, DIG Armed Mr Gulzar Singh Salathia, SSP Jammu Mukesh Singh and other senior police officers.
