On the fateful day of the incident, all the four associates met at the outskirts of Langate at Batapora-Wader at around 1300 hours. Since it was a Friday, there was no movement of people on the road as many locals were busy in offering Friday prayers. The four accused stationed themselves on the road leading to Battapora and Yaroo where they ate lunch and they were also in an inebriated condition. It was during this time, that they found the deceased walking alone. Seeing her approach towards the road side where they were sitting, they hid themselves in the Maize crop, Bushes. When she crossed them, they followed her and caught her unawares. While one accused caught her from back side and closed her mouth by putting his hand on her mouth, the others caught the victim and dragged her to the nearby Maize fields and Orchards. The accused confessed that the girl cried disparately for help but she was overpowered by them. Later she was raped by all of them. They have also confessed that the victim had subsequently fainted. The accused apprehended that the victim may narrate the tale to the family members and hence, they decided to eliminate her.
