The spokesman said that such a decision will hamper the independent character of programme being broadcasted by the otherwise government controlled All India Radio. The spokesman further asserted that people have little faith and they do not rely on news items broadcasted by All India Radio and over the years they have reposed their faith in Saharbeen and Aaluv programme which according to the spokesman had successfully maintained its character despite all odds. Spokesman made fervent appeal to the Minister for Information and Broadcasting, T Ranjandass Munshi that in the interest of the huge viewer population Shaerbeen programme should be strengthened and its independent existence shall not be disturbed.
