| Div Com reviews Mehraj-u-Aalam arrangements | | |
Srinagar, August 11 – Arrangements regarding celebration of Mehraj-u-Aalam were finalized at a high level meeting chaired by Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Mr. Basharat Ahmed here today. District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Chief Engineers of various disciplines and senior officers of departments besides representatives of Wakaf Board and Nishan deh Committee Aasar-i-Sharief Hazratbal attended the meeting.
The Divisional Commissioner asked the Roads and Buildings Department to undertake repairs of the roads leading to Hazratbal. The Lakes and Water Ways Development Authority was directed to ensure immediate clearing of weed in the portion of Dal Lake near Hazratbal shrine. The Health Department will set up medical camps in the vicinity of the shrine. Adequate arrangements for uninterrupted water and power supply during the auspicious days will be made by the concerned departments. SRTC and other transport associations will ply sufficient number of vehicles to carry the devotees from and to the shrine on these days.
The Traffic Department was asked to ensure proper traffic management during the auspicious days in view of heavy rush.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar will act as Nodal Officer to oversee the arrangements. |
