Mohd Majid Malik Doda | July 24 A major tragedy was averted last night when troops of 4 Rashtriya Rifle (4RR) BIHAR busted a LeT hide out and recovered huge quantity of arms and ammunition besides rations at Seoj Dhar, a picnic spot, 4 Kms from Kailash Kund in Bhaderwah area of Doda district. According to reliable sources 4 RR on a specific tip off launched a search operation at Seoj Dhar near Kailash Kund and during the night long search operations the forces busted a hide out and recovered a huge quantity of arms and ammunition from the spot. The sources said that the ammunition was dumped in advance in view of the Kailash Kund yatra slated next month. Sources informed that for the last several days security forces have been receiving information that LeT terrorists are hiding in the area to carry out terrorist activities on the eve of the Kailash Kund yatra commencing from next month. Following these reports the forces launched a hunt in the area and located a hideout and later busted it .However no militant was present there when the forces busted the hide out. Giving details of the recoveries made senior officials of 4RR said that forces recovered large quantity of arms and ammunition including two UBGL , nine Grenades , 5 Kg RDX, 300 Rounds of AK 47 rifles , 12 rounds of SLR , four AK 47 magazines ,one SLR magazine, one Petromax lamp, one bundle of wire , one Radio set , one Transistor , one head Phone, 12 Pencil Cells , 4 Glucose Bottles, 4 I.V Sets , five pairs of Surgical hand Gloves, 20 bundles of band aid , medicines 80 Kg Rice , 100 Kg flour ,15 Kg Rajmash , 10 kg Kaju-Badam, 1 Stove , 5 liters kerosene Oil , 20 packets of cigarettes , 4 Blankets and 6 pressure cookers and other items of daily use. It is pertinent to mention here that from the last one month the news about hiring a Hindu boy by the LeT spread like wild fire causing panic among the residents. The boy, sources said, was given Rs.50, 000 for throwing grenades on the religious places in the Bhaderwah. The news about joining of a Hindu youth in the militant cadres was carried by the Early Times in its July 9 issue. With the busting of the hide out and recovery of war like ammunition has demoralized the LeT cadre as the security forces have failed their mission to disturb the Kailash Kund area beginning next month. It is also learnt from the sources that terrorists have established a strong network in the whole Doda district and they have appointed literate youth in their cadres including some Doctors and Engineers and highly qualified persons. Sources further disclosed that by busting this hide out, a major tragedy has been averted.. Meanwhile, the security has been further beefed up in the entire Bhaderwah in view of the ensuing KailashYatra in which thousands of devotes will be participating.
