| People’s safety, security top priority of Government: Peerzada | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu July 25 The Pradesh Congress Committee President Peerzada Mohamad Sayeed has said that the safety and security of common citizens is of prime importance of the government. He said state and centre government has been moving forward on the path of restoring peace and normalcy while taking due care of the safety security of the citizens. The shifting of forces from government and private accommodations is going on as a part of process of normalization, but the opinion of security agencies is taken into account in this process. Addressing a day long function of District Congress Committee, Jammu Rural, here today, Sayeed asked all political parties to support and strengthen the peace initiatives of the state and centre government and stop exploitation of the people on emotional issues. The record of the Azad led government on human rights issue is remarkable and every effort is made to win the confidence of the people. Whenever there is any incident or complaint of violation, strict and exemplars action has been taken, he added.. However, the security forces have faced a tough situation during last 17 years to retrieve the situation, which also needs to be commended by all right thinking persons, he said adding that militants and separatists have lost support of the people in Kashmir, because of the people friendly policies of the state and centre government. He urged upon party men to unitedly work for strengthening the party at grass root level by taking the policies and programs of the state and centre government to the masses, and monitor the implementation of development works in their areas and give feedback to the party and the government. Senior Congress leader Mangat Ram Sharma while addressing the function cautioned the workers about the designs of communal and divisive forces. He said that Congress has always safeguarded the interests of the nation by strengthening secular forces. The caste and religion based forces are a threat to the social and secular fabric of the nation. He said Congress never harped on emotional issues to enhance its political interest but certain parties and forces in Jammu and Kashmir are trying to divide the people in the name of religion, region and caste. The meeting was addressed by Th. Balwan Singh-President Congress Committee Jammu (Rural), Swaran Lata-President Mahila Congress, Block President and District Congress Committee office bearers. Sr. Vice President. PCC Dharmapal Sharma, Yash Pal Khajuria, R.S. Chib-MLC, Mula Ram, Ch. Gharu Ram, Sham Lal, MLAs, Janak Gupta-Ex-MP, Parkash Sharma-EX-MLA, Shiv Dev Singh, Vinod Mishra, Darshan Raina and Maheshwar Singh also attended the meeting.
