Jammu Nov 13: The Commercial Taxes (CT) Department has registered 51 percent growth in a month of October, said an official here today. Official spokesperson claimed that the revenue collected by Commercial Taxes (CT) Department has witnessed a robust growth of more than 51% during the month of October, 2015 as compared to the collections made during the corresponding period of last financial year. “The cumulative revenue collections ending October, 2015 have also shown healthy increase of more than 15% over the corresponding period of previous financial year, he added. Commissioner Secretary Commercial Taxes Department Baseer Khan (IAS) giving details said that the departmental machinery has been geared up to tackle the challenges of tax evasion and clear instructions have been issued to officers to take action as per the law in all such cases. “Monitoring and surveillance of taxable transactions in the State under various enactments administered by the department have been increased with clear instructions to deal with the tax evaders strictly in accordance with the law without any slackness but simultaneously ensuring that no honest taxpayer is harassed unnecessarily, he said, while hoping, “the revenue targets assigned by the Government will not only be achieved but surpassed.” |
