| Leopard strikes again; kills minor, injures girl | | |
Srinagar July 26: Tragedy struck far off village of Narpeer Hanga in North Kashmir area of Handwara when a stray Leopard struck their house late last Night
Villagers said that the leopard attacked the children when they were alone in their respective houses house
Giving details locals said that the leopard attacked a five years old boy Danish Javeed son of Javeed Ahmed Qureshi and killed him . Later while fleeing from the spot , the beast jumped at another girl Kulsuma 15 daughter of Mohammed Rajab Bhat injuring her critically .
The injured girl was immediately shifted to hospital where she is receiving treatment.
The incident has evoked strong protest among the people of the area holding Wild Life authorities responsible for the increasing attacks by beasts on human population.
The animal human conflict has witnessed a sharp increasing during past few years with average two to three incidents being reported every month from far off areas both in Kashmir and Jammu.
