| Rural Development Engineer caught red handed accepting bribe | | |
Jammu July 26- State Vigilance Organization (SVO) caught red handed Nissar Ahmad Wani @ Dilbar, Junior Engineer Block Development Office Bandipora while accepting a bribe of Rs.2000 for releasing the pending bill.
One Abdul Ahad Malik S/o Mohammed Sarwar Malik R/o Lawaypora Bandipora lodged a written report with P/S VOK stating therein that Rural Development Department had allotted work of Sheikh-ul- Alam road at Lawaypora Bandipora. The work was completed by him and the said engineer was demanding Rs.2000 as illegal gratification for releasing the payment of Rs .one lakh .The papers for processing of his bill are pending with the Junior Engineer.
Case FIR No. 44/2007 was registered in Police Station Vigilance Organization Kashmir and investigation taken up. During the course of investigation, the officials of SVO laid a successful trap during which Nissar Ahmad Wani @ Dilbar, Junior Engineer RDD Bandipora was caught red handed while accepting bribe of Rs.2000 from the complainant. The tainted money was recovered from his possession in presence of independent witnesses at BDOs office Bandipora. The file pertaining to the pending bill was also recovered from his possession. The accused was taken into custody for further investigation.
