| Centre for Women studies organize two days workshop | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | July 26 A two-day skill development workshop on ‘Effective Management of Women and Children’s Needs’ has been organized by the Centre for Women Studies, University of Jammu. ICDS supervisors from Udhampur and Kathua are participating along with CDPOs of Udhampur Ramanagar and Bajalta. The Workshop started with the introduction of the Centre for Women Studies and objectives of the Skill Development Programme by Prof. Poonam Dhawan Director, Centre for Women Studies, University of Jammu. Speaking on the occasion, Poonam presented a picture of the situation of Women and Children in the society and highlighted the need for training programmes for grass root functionaries. She said that such skills development can go a long way in increasing the competencies of the supervisors which contribute to the improve of services in the field. Dr. Sunita Zalpuri from IMPA, Dr. Sudesh Sharma from Rehber-e-Sehat, Dr. Samridhi Arora and Prof Rita Jitendera made the presentations. In the workshop, useful inputs were provided to the participants for the functioning of the anganwadi centres and ICDS projects. Today’s program focused on community mobilization skills, supervision skills, report writing skills, monitoring and evaluation skills, communication skills and management of women and children’s health and nutrition needs effectively at field level.
