| Challenging the Selection of Excise Guard | | HC Allowed Petitioners to appear in the Interview | |
Jammu, August, 11 :- Justice YP Nargotra of J&K High Court Jammu Wing today in a bunch of fresh writ petitions permitted the petitioners to appear in the interview date to be fixed by the selecting authority.
This Court order has been passed in a bunch of writ petitions filed by Vivek Magotra and others, Sunil Sharma and Ors and other identical writ petitions challenging the criteria for the posts of excise guards and submitted that petitioners applied for the post of excise guard, the excise commissioner, Chairman State Level Selection Committee published criteria for making recruitment. The notification issued on June 19, 2006, Petitioners challenged the same.
Justice YP Nargotra after hearing petitioners in person issued notice to the respondents; in the meanwhile, the petitioners shall be permitted to appear in the interview on a date to be fixed by the selecting authority to be conducted for the post of guards for which the petitioners have applied. The permission to appear in the interview shall be provisional. Court also directed the respondents that Final select list shall not be issued till further order.
It is worthwhile to mention here that the High Court Earlier on 11 writ petitions challenging the notification of short listed candidates for the post of Guards has also allowed the petitioners to appear in the interview for the post of Guards in the Excise Department. JNF |
