| News impact: PDD provides money technician for treatment | | | Jammu, July 27 As a result of the impact of a news story circulated by a city based news agency, the Power Development Corporation today released Rs.1.25 lakhs in favour of a PDD technician, Pawan Kumar, who is battling for life in the Batra hospital. Official sources confirmed that under the instructions of the Chief Minister and the Power Commissioner the amount sanctioned by the Government in March last was released for payment to the Pawan Kumar who is suffering from renal failure. The executive engineer PDD in Jammu was sent intimation to this effect in the morning. The executive engineer informed Pawan Kumar’s family members about it. However, while expressing gratitude to the Chief Minister and the Power Commissioner the family members of Pawan Kumar said today “we are thankful to the Government but we feel intrigued as to why only Rs.1.25 lakhs were released when the Government order No.60/PDD-2007 had clearly indicated that the Government had sanctioned Rs.1.85 lakhs in favour of Pawan Kumar for treatment.” They said that another sum of Rs.60,000 which the Government was committed to pay to Pawan Kumar had not been reimbursed so far.
