| Mattoo flags off pilgrims to Sagam | | | Jammu, July 27 Jammu University Vice Chancellor Prof. Amitabh Mattoo today flagged off four pilgrim buses to Sagam in Kokarnaag from Muthi Migrant camp for the historical Havan being conducted at Radha Devi’s Samadhi at Sagam. The havan is being conducted for the first time since the migration, 17 years back, by the All Parties Migrant Co-ordination Committee (APMCC) and Prabhandhak Sudhar Samiti Working Group (PSSWG) Sagam while the transport facility has been provided free of cost by The Shadow, an English daily. Prof Mattoo who was the chief guest on the occasion flagged off the buses while King C Bharati, Executive Editor The Shadow, Vijay Chikan, General Secretary APMCC and Maharaj Krishan, PSSWG were also present. The devotees would be received at Sagam by the APMCC Chairman Vinod Pandit, the brain behind the revival of Kashmiri Pandit temples in the Valley, who is already camping in Sagam to make necessary arrangements. While flagging off the pilgrims Prof Amitabh Mattoo appreciated the efforts of APMCC Chief Vinod Pandit for organizing a series of Havans in Valley which include havan at Tripur Sundari, Devsar, Mata Kulwagishori, Kulgam and now in Sagam within the past one month. Mattoo praised the efforts of Dr Roop Lal Sharma, Chairman The Shadow for providing free transport to migrants saying such gestures would help the ongoing peace process in the state and encourage more Pandits to visit their villages and temples. The leaders also thanked King C Bharati, the Executive Editor of The Shadow for coordination between The Shadow and the Pandits besides giving wide coverage to Pandit functions in and outside the state.
