| Charak distributes cheques among farmers | | | JAMMU, JULY 27 Minister for R&B Mr. Gulchain Singh Charak today distributed cheques amounting to Rs. 7.62 lakh among 50 affected families whose Rabi crop was damaged due to accidental fire in the month of April 2007 in Govind Garh in Ramgarh block, about 36 kilometer from here. Deputy Commissioner Samba Mr. B. S. Jamwal, Executive Engineer R&B Mr. N. K. Sharma and other senior officers of Revenue, R&B were also present. Addressing the gathering, the Minister said that the coalition government headed by Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad is fully aware with the problems of farmer community. He said that the centre and state government have launched number of schemes including loan facilities for the benefit of farmers. He congratulated the Numberdars and Chowkidars on the increase of their wages in the recent cabinet. He asked them to cooperate with executing agencies so that ongoing developments would be completed within stipulated time frame. He asked the officers of other departments to remain present in their respective areas and solved the farmer’s genuine problems on the spot so that they do not face any inconvenience. Several deputations met the Minister and projected their genuine demands included construction of additional rooms at Government Primary School Chak Paras, installation of new pump sets, construction of compound wall of Cremation Ground, repair and renovation of link roads of Babral to Govind Garh and Keso to Pakhri, old age, widows and family benefit pensions and construction lanes, drains and bye-lanes. The Minister gave patient hearing and assured them their genuine demands would be solved on priority basis. Later, the Minister also inaugurated new Charlie Outlaw Highways Garments at Bahu Plaza.
