| LeT militant apprehend, IED destroyed | | |
Srinagar July 28
Police claimed to have arrested a LeT militant at Sopore in Baramulla district of south Kashmir.
Police sources said that on specific information, police laid a cordon at the residence of militant and asked him to surrender.
The militant tried to give slip to police cops but the later overpowerd him and took him in their custody, sources said.
The arrested militant is identified as Tariq Ahmad Shala, son of Mohammad Subhan, resident of Amargarh Sopore, Baramulla, police said.
Tariq was active in the area from last quite some time and police was in search of him.
Meanwhile, a tragedy was averted today when Police destroyed improvised Explosive Device (IED) at Tulibal, Sopore.
Police Sources said that on detecting the IED on the roadside, police informed its Bomb disposal squad, who in response destroyed the device successfully.
